Meb Minutes

“Meb Minutes” is a weekly series of videos that gives an inside look into Meb’s preparation for Boston. Get training tips and a raw, inside look with no photo-shoot set-ups, no staged workouts, no re-do.  We simply wanted to catch Meb “doing what he does” and he was nice enough to let us show up and do just that.  We’ll cover topics from his mental approach and training philosophy to workouts, cross-training and “the small things” that have made his career long and successful.  Find out what those “small things” are and how you can incorporate them into your training here on Meb Minutes.

About Meb

In 2009, Meb Keflezighi won the USATF Half Marathon Championships in 1:01:25.  A few months later, Meb ran a then-PR of 2:09:21 in the London Marathon.  He would then go on to win the ING New York City Marathon later that year in yet another then-PR of 2:09:15.

Five years later, Meb returned to the city of Houston once again, this time to run the 2014 USATF Half Marathon Championships.  Coming off of a disappointing New York City Marathon at the end of 2013 that left him hungry, Meb once again won the event, but this time two seconds faster (1:01:23), adding a 22nd national title to his record. On April 21st, 2014, Meb will run the 118th Boston Marathon …

At 38 years of age, many want to know how Meb has compiled such an accomplished resume (one that includes an Olympic Marathon Silver Medal!).  Over the next 10 weeks, as he prepares for, races in and reflects on The 118th Boston Marathon, Meb will give us an inside look into “The Small Things” that he credits with providing longevity and success to his career.

We want to thank Meb for his candor and openness to share this knowledge and insight with the running world as he prepares for one of the biggest races of his career!
